Wieland is hiring a Sr. HR Manager . The Senior HR Manager will work closely with the Director of HR and business unit leadership to provide support for a wide range of HR areas. This position, with the support of dedicated HR team, is responsible for day-to-day operations of Human Resource functions and takes a leadership role in labor and employee relations for all business unit colleagues across multiple locations
This role is located in Montpelier, O hio and will be fully on-site.
Responsibilities
Sr. HR Manager Responsibilities :
Strategy
- Develop Human Resources strategies aligned with Company and business unit objectives
- Participate in business unit leadership meetings, including staff meetings, budget preparation and strategic planning
- Collaborates with business leaders and corporate labor relations subject matter experts on labor matters and helps to develop the appropriate course of action. Serves on part of the team as subject matter expert in contract negotiations with recognized employee organizations.
- Partners with local management and HR Director to lead effective and efficient labor contract preparation and negotiations for multiple unions.
- Lead people, support and lead cultural organizational needs, and create career growth opportunities that support employee engagement and retention objectives
People / Culture
Serve as a trusted advisor, providing coaching and counseling to employees seeking support and guide management in HR-related matters
Administers and manages labor contract administration; interprets labor contracts to managers, employees and HR staff; oversees processes for review and resolution of employee grievances.Investigate and resolve employee relations issues and complaints. Interface with employees and management to clearly identify issues, perform or support internal investigations, liaise with necessary parties for suitable resolutionPlan and manage employee engagement events and activitiesConnect with the local community including participation with the Chamber of Commerce, and local school system.Collaboration
Collaborate with Talent Acquisition team for recruitment, pre-employment screening and onboarding
Collaborate with Talent Management / Learning and Development team on initiatives to support employee development, performance evaluations, succession planning and compliance trainingCollaborate with the Benefits team to support all aspects of employee benefits, leave of absence management and wellness initiativesCollaborate with HR Shared Services team on merit recommendation process and incentive compensation planning process for salaried employeesPartner with Operations Management on labor related issues including union grievances, contract interpretation and negotiations (where applicable).Partner with leadership to communicate organizational changes, build culture, and develop peoplePartner with supervisors and site leaders to recommend people best practices - Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment law / regulationPartner with Safety and site leaders to support and facilitate safety programs and manage workers compensation claimAdministration
Oversee HR direct reports and their duties including onboarding, compliance training, HRIS updates and form administration, employee file maintenance, community events.
Oversee the preparation and execution of onboarding & orientationPrepare employee separation notices and related documentationAdministration of disciplinary actions for both hourly and salaried employees.Manage annual performance review and merit compensation process for non-bargaining hourly employeesDraft and update job descriptions and site-specific policiesSr. HR Manager Qualifications :
B.S. degree in Human Resources, Business, or related fieldHR Certification preferred (SHRM-CP, SPHR)7 years of HR management experience with broad knowledge in labor and employee relationsPrior experience in manufacturing and / or union environment requiredStrong Wieland values to support a positive work culture that encourages employee engagement, mutual trust, and respectAbility to influence leaders at all levels of the organizationActs with a sense of urgency and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentSound judgement, decision-making and problem-solving skillsReliable, flexible, and responsiveHighest level of integrity and confidentialityExcellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detailUnderstanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (OH & PA)Must be able to travel (up to 20%) as needed for site visits and HR team meetings.Qualifications
