Summary
The Systems Engineer will deliver effective on-site, and remote systems support firm-wide. The position will design, implement, evaluate, maintain, monitor, report, manage and support various server-related hardware and software. The Systems Engineers brings expertise to IT projects such as new application installations, server hardware upgrades and modifications, and application upgrades.
Job Duties
The following are essential job duties and responsibilities of the Systems Engineer. This list is not exhaustive, and other duties may be assigned as necessary.
- Support, Monitor, design, and implement system solutions, server hardware, and software upgrades to include but are not limited to VMWare and Windows servers OS.
- Analyze and resolve server & server application-related issues and respond to user requests promptly. Work with IT staff to determine specific needs and implement technical solutions best.
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Maintain and manage M365 licensing.
- Maintain and manage M365 Azure tenant, configurations and connections.
- Write scripts to facilitate automation and ensure the accuracy of routine tasks.
- Create written documentation of systems design and capabilities and update IT management as required.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of existing computer systems, from the infrastructure to the desktop, to recommend improvements.
- Maintain an inventory of all server-related software and hardware.
- Train junior technical personnel on server support and technical documentation.
- Identify and recommend new technologies that will increase the overall efficiency of the Firm's systems.
- Evaluate new products and maintain awareness of industry updates.
- Provide support for various projects as needed and determine by IT management.
- Work with IT staff on any technology-related issues and provide emergency support on major systems or problems when necessary. Assist other offices as required.
- Implement or manage the implementation of related updates and patches following Firm policy.
- Performs other technology-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field or equivalent work experience.
Experience: 3 years' escalating experience with windows desktop and server operating systems. Working knowledge of Virtualization and backup technologies.
Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of networking technologies.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server technologies including but limited to Direct Access, IIS, and MS SQL.
- Advanced knowledge of multiple operating systems and platforms, the internet, and other related technologies.
- Good communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends to implement service-affecting changes.
- Ability to travel to all offices as required.

- Ability to keyboard for an extended period of time.
