- Figure out how to keep an electrical substation built in a floodplain, from flooding.
- Guide the development of a large apartment complex, from concept to an open house.

The Civil Engineer will provide design and plan production for general civil design on a wide variety of projects which may include site layouts, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities, and associated civil engineering activities. Will perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
Essential Functions :
Perform engineering calculations in support of civil engineering design projectsManage projects including client communications, public input and feedback, and internal supportPerform AutoCAD Civil 3D design / drafting in support of civil engineering design projectsPerforms, trains, and provides guidance for site investigations, survey work, CAD work, and data collectionPrepares and reviews engineering designs and reports which includes design calculations and plan preparationPerforms, provides training for, and guides quality assurance, ensuring projects get carried out as designed and recommend modifications as neededAbility to identify engineering and surveying services needed by the client and the ability to draft proposals and estimate feesCoordinate with government agencies, client staff, and other professionals to obtain design information and approvalsRequired Skills & Behaviors :
Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in all work tasksAbility to plan, schedule work and complete work assignments within established budgets and timelinesCapable of working with a multidisciplinary team of planners, engineers, surveyors, architects, and techniciansAptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications such as AutoCAD Civil 3DMentoring capabilityOrganizational Relationships :

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related fieldPE licensure5 years of experience managing site development and land transformation5 years of experience in A / E / C industryTravel : Local travel as required
