- The primary responsibility of the Instrument Repair Technician is to perform appropriate service and repair of customer instruments.
- Accurately document and inspect incoming equipment to determine service requirements and identify needed repairs, adjustments and parts.
- Log incoming units sent for calibration into the calibration system and move into calibration lab.
- Report and document problems, which might have any adverse effect on quality to the Service Manager to be resolved.
- Perform normal service work as trained and as schedule permits.
- Notify the Service Manager immediately if any safety hazards are noticed.
- Keep work areas clean, organized and free of safety hazards and obstructions.
- Maintain appropriate paperwork for documentation and time reporting.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Customer Service Manager.
- High school diploma or equivalent desirable.
- Must have strong reading and writing skills and be able to follow written and verbal instructions with accuracy.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills required.
- Basic to advanced soldering skills are required.
- Must be able to use basic hand tools and electrical tools, including digital multimeters.
- Must be able to use basic hand tools and some basic electrical tools, such as digital multimeters.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, basic schematic symbols and electronic component values, as required by the position.
- Must demonstrate a high level of accuracy and thoroughness in work.
- Mechanical skills and an understanding of assembly processes are beneficial.
