What are the responsibilities and job description for the OR, PACU, and Outpatient - Float Nurse position at Wilbarger General Hospital?
Job Summary: Provides direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patent populations. Addresses the psychological, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Communicates with surgeon and anesthesia provider about patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory. Participates in performance improvement activities. Assesses operating room for equipment function and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensure needs of surgical operating team are met. Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedure. Coordinates the delivery of patient care and services in the Operating room, Recovery room and Outpatient surgery. On-call as needed, required.
Job Qualifications:
A. Education: Graduate of accredited School of Professional Nursing.
B. Personal job-related skills: Ability to coordinate all aspects of pre-operative, intra-operative, recovery room and post-operative care.
C. Licensure, Registry, or Certification: Registered Nurse currently licensed by the State of Teas Board of Nursing. Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC Required.
D. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require extended periods of standing and walking. Bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds. Occasional heavy lifting when moving or supporting patients.
