The Production Operator I is an entry level position for the precast concrete manufacturer function serving the funeral service, building trades, and agricultural markets. The positions career path provides the opportunity to learn a range of manufactured concrete products, including burial vaults, monuments, lawn crypts, columbarium niches, septic tanks, retaining walls, storm shelters, and agricultural precast products. The entry level operator performs a variety of tasks to ensure the efficient production of concrete products. Training is provided.
Learn and become proficient in the aspects of manufacturing, stripping products from forms, cleaning and oiling forms, applying Unidex bonding mixture and butyl seal, and placing concrete in forms for vaults and urns. Mold Preparation: Set up and prepare molds for concrete pouring. Apply release agents to ensure easy removal of finished products. Cut and bend rebar and wire for reinforcement purposes. Pouring and Finishing: Use tools and equipment to spread, level, and finish concrete surfaces. Monitor the curing process to ensure proper hardening. Quality Control: Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards. Perform tests on concrete samples to check for strength, consistency, and other properties. Machine Operation: Utilize various hand tools required for manufacturing tasks. Operate and maintain machinery and equipment used in the production process. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to ensure it functions properly. Safety and Compliance: Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain records of production activities, including quantities produced, materials used, and any issues encountered. Report any problems or deviations from production plans to supervisors. Perform other duties, special projects, assignments, or tasks, as assigned by management to support the overall goals and objectives
Experience
Strong attention to detail and quality. Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects. Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements
Capability to lift 75 lbs. Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks. Ability to stand, bend, twist and reach for extended periods. PPE and adherence to safety protocols required. Experience
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or construction environment, preferably with concrete products. - Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of production machinery and equipment. - Basic understanding of quality control procedures and testing methods of concrete.
