Job Summary:
Our production lead Is responsible for set up of forming machines (and related equipment) and the direction of staff to ensure that good parts are safely, and properly, produced according to specifications and meet production schedules. To set up equipment and direct operators on Rotary Forming machines by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Programs, positions, and secures molds and fixtures onto machines to insure proper operation providing quality parts.
- Responsible for first and tenth part approval and in process inspection and documentation.
- Adjusts controls to set and regulate machining factors.
- Assist and train operators on proper procedures in regard to inspection and safe operation of machines.
- Starts machine and observes machine operation to reposition workpiece, change molds or fixtures or adjust machine settings for multiple passes.
- Responsible for investigating and correcting high scrap rate production or other production related issues and to provide controls to prevent another occurrence of the problem.
- Enforce facilities quality and safety rules and policies including housekeeping in the production area.
- Report issues to supervisor in regard to production, quality and safety, make suggestions on improvement in those same areas.
- Responsible for proper documentation in assigned work areas.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
- 3 years in a manufacturing experience
- 1 year of lead experience
- High School Diploma
- Strong PC skills and experience of packages such as Excel and Standard Analyses: Purchasing Information System (SAP)
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and recognized QC tools
