Operator (II)
Department: Yard
Reports To: General Manager
Status: Non-Exempt
Description: Safely and efficiently operating a variety of equipment and responsible for inspecting, providing preventative maintenance and reporting any equipment concerns to management.
Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Expertly operates front-end loader to load, unload, and move materials with precision and efficiency.
- Coordinates tasks and communicate effectively with team members to optimize workflow and productivity
- Performs required inspections and basic maintenance of equipment to ensure safe operating conditions.*
- Dismantle vehicles with specified equipment
- Crush vehicle inventory
- Load inventory into appropriate facilities, containers, trucks or trailers
- Keep all equipment clean and functioning
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate and refill the equipment as necessary
- Use various pieces of equipment to perform fine grading and finishing, sloping and banking, backfilling, demolition, ditching, loading, excavating and stockpiling
- Only move/handle vehicles with an inventory sticker"
- Follows all safety policies and procedures.*

Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience or knowledge in the automotive industry.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid driver’s license. Forklift certification. Training and certification available.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. For heavier merchandise lifting devices and/or assistance is required.
