Upper School Biology & Chemistry Teacher for 2025-2026

Wilbraham & Monson Academy, situated on 300 acres in Western Massachusetts, is an independent day and boarding school of 410 students in grades 6 - postgraduate.
ACADEMIC PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES
Wilbraham & Monson Academy seeks a full time Upper School Science Teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year. Strong academic background and versatility among the sciences is valued as the Academy looks for someone who can teach biology and chemistry.
familiarity with NexGen education standards in the sciences.
ability to coordinate collaboration with other instructors teaching multiple sections of a single course.
experience designing condensed laboratory activities supporting curricular goals.
experience with online Learning Management Systems.
experience with maintaining labs and storerooms in accordance with professional standards.
AFTERNOON / ATHLETIC PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES
All faculty at Wilbraham & Monson Academy are also expected to participate in our afternoon program for two out of three seasons. This involves coaching and/or running an afternoon activity.
RESIDENTIAL & COMMUNITY LIFE RESPONSIBILITIES
All faculty are also teamed with 5-6 students to whom they will serve as an advisor, meeting once per week and being responsible for checking in on their academic and social well being and progress.
If living on campus, faculty are asked to provide 1 night a week & 1 weekend a month of dorm supervision.
If living off campus, faculty are asked to provide 4 weekends a year of activity duty/supervision
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will be an educator with a:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry or relevant field
Minimum of 2-3 years of successful classroom teaching experience
Demonstrated understanding of differentiated teaching and learning approaches
Track record of collaboration with colleagues
Athletic coaching experience

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical demands include dexterity for office machines including but not limited to computers, telephones, electronic calculators, copy machines, and printers. Common physical demands include stooping, bending, reaching, walking, and sitting or standing for extended periods.
