LPG SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Job Summary: Installs, removes, and maintains tanks, appliances, and propane systems. Also performs sales including gathering leads, site surveys, new customer gas checks, and gas turn-ons and disconnects. Help in the refined fuels department, when necessary, at the manager’s discretion. The position reports to Wilco's facility in Mount Angel, Oregon.
Responsibilities
- Installs bulk storage tanks for systems at a variety of customer locations.
- Deliver, repair, and install a variety of equipment.
- Correctly and precisely complete a variety of paperwork supporting the work performed.
- Engages with customers concerning the correct and safe location of tanks and other equipment.
- Installs and maintains gas piping systems, regulators, meters, and liquid dispensing equipment.
- Routinely makes detailed safety checks and pressure tests to ensure the highest level of safety.
- Maintains, paints, and repairs Company and customer-owned equipment, which includes tanks, cylinders, and valves.
- Operates company vehicles safely and courteously.
- Maintains assigned company equipment and vehicles cleanly and professionally.
- Available for night, weekend, and holiday after-hours calls on a rotating basis.
- Performs any other duties that are assigned.
- Daily interaction with the Energy manager.
- Pumping out of fuel or water and tank movement of refined fuel tanks.
- Installation and repair of tank monitoring devices for both refined fuels and LPG.
- Installation and repair of other refined fuel equipment, as needed.
- Working knowledge of propane anditss properties.
- Ability to communicate both in written and verbal form
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers
- Current and clean driving record
- Basic computer skills
- Understanding of the fuel, oil, and lube industry, is preferred.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years operating experience as an LPG Service Technician.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Class B commercial license, with HazMat and all other endorsements, or the ability to obtain one within 90 days.
- Candidate must demonstrate exceptional mechanical ability.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Ability to work well in adverse and often dirty conditions.
- Outdoors and on-the-road work for extended periods.
- Approximately 10% of the time is spent doing paperwork in the office.
