Job Summary
A over 5 decades old Optometric practice is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Office Manager-Bookkeeper-Medical coder. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily administrative tasks, ensuring efficient office functionality, and supporting financial activities. This role requires previous experience in a medical, or similar office setting. It is preferred if the candidate has medical coding and billing experience. The days of work and hours per day have some leniency. Bill paying, medical coding and posting and typical tasks tied to business management will be performed. A full time employment opportunity, with associated additional PTO, health... benefits) is available for a candidate who has current Optometric technician and optical skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily office operations, including scheduling, correspondence, and supply management.
- Oversee financial activities such as accounts payable, budgeting, and bank reconciliation.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Utilize financial software to track expenses, generate reports, and assist with tax preparation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Conduct regular audits of financial documents to ensure accuracy.
- Provide support for public accounting tasks as needed.
- Train and supervise administrative staff to enhance productivity.
Experience
- Proven experience in an office management role or similar position.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including debits and credits, and budgeting practices.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools.
- Familiarity with public accounting processes is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
