Junior Buyer Expediter

• Receives requisitions from various departments through Jira, and when necessary, confers with requisitioner to clarify item specifications and requirements.
• Reviews and evaluates requisitions for complete and accurate information.
• Issues Purchase Orders in SAP for a variety of materials and supplies, usually with established vendors.
• Issues change orders as necessary.
• Ensures the purchase of all goods and services comply with company policy and procedures.
• Assures that open purchase orders are tracked, followed up on, pre-expedited and expedited as needed.
• Works closely with the Planning Manager to ensure that daily and weekly parts requirements are met to satisfy the Master Build Plan.
• Notifies Planning and Programs if a part delivery will slip and negatively impact the production schedule.
• Expedites the movement of materials throughout the internal build process when necessary.  This includes movement through deburring, the machine shop, quality, stockroom, and shipping / receiving.
• Processes any purchased parts rejected through Material Review Board (MRB) or the requisitioner for immediate replacement /credit as deemed necessary.
• Maintains positive supplier relations.
• Files all purchase orders based upon current established filing structure.
• Updates and maintains Item Master Data regarding lead time, MFG PN#, and preferred vendor in SAP.
• Creates, updates, and maintains Business Partner Master Data for vendors in SAP.
• Assists Receiving Dept with any / all packing slip discrepancies including part or quantity issues.
• Assists the Quality Dept. with upkeep and additions to the Approved Supplier List.
• Assists with the creating and renewing Wilcox / Supplier Non-Disclosure Agreements.
• Performs other duties and special projects as requested by management.

• Reviews safety procedures and follows them, making suggested improvements.
• Promotes safety awareness.
• Seeks opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
• Uses PPE appropriately.

• HS Diploma, experience with MS Excel.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong team player.
• Must be very organized and have the capacity to work on multiple issues simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work with little supervision, adaptable to change in demand and priorities.
• Able to recommend and implement process change and improvements.
• Wilcox is a U.S. government defense contractor, and this position is responsible to control access to export-controlled technology. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access U.S. government-controlled technology prior to beginning work.

• Regular on-site attendance is a necessary function of this position. 

• Associate’s degree in business administration or related subject.
• Purchasing and / or manufacturing experience preferred (2 years).
• ERP system experience.

• Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
• Repeating motions that include wrists, hands, and fingers.
• Light work that includes moving objects up to 30 pounds.
