Job Summary
Wild Rose Woodwork is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Finisher to join our cabinet shop team. We’re looking for a skilled professional who takes pride in delivering high-quality finishes and can manage their workflow with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and perform all aspects of cabinet finishing, including sanding, staining, sealing, and applying topcoats to achieve a flawless final product.
- Ensure consistency and precision in finish quality across all projects, meeting or exceeding client expectations.
- Manage finishing schedules, prioritize tasks, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Inspect completed work for defects and make adjustments as needed to uphold our high standards.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Maintain and care for finishing tools and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in cabinet finishing or a related woodworking field, with demonstrated expertise in a variety of finishing techniques (e.g., prep work, staining, glazing, lacquering, distressing).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional eye for detail and commitment to producing polished, defect-free finishes.
- Self-Management: Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines without constant oversight.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the initiative to address challenges proactively.
- Knowledge of wood types, finishes, and industry-standard tools and materials.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials, and work in a shop environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience leading or mentoring a small team of finishers.
- Familiarity with custom cabinetry and high-end residential projects.
