Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment room, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols.
- Record patient medical histories and vital signs accurately in medical records.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage appointment scheduling, including confirming patient visits as a dental receptionist.
- Maintain accurate documentation of treatments performed and assist with medical coding as needed.
- Follow aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
Requirements
- Knowledge of dental terminology is essential for effective communication within the practice.
- Experience with Dentrix or similar dental practice management software is preferred.
- Familiarity with taking vital signs and understanding their significance in patient care.
- Proficient in aseptic techniques to maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
- Ability to assist in various dental procedures effectively while maintaining patient comfort.
- Experience with medical records management, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques, particularly X-Ray procedures, is advantageous.
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist or in a similar role is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on patient interaction and support.
