The Wilderness Resort is seeking hardworking, dependable, enthusiastic, customer service driven individuals to join our fast-paced team! Employees have access to great benefits, amenity usage, and so much more!
The Cash Office Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in receiving cash or credit card payment for merchandise or services and keeping record of funds received in retail establishments or places of public accommodation by performing the following duties.
This is a full-time position, 5 days per week with day, night, and weekend availability. Must be able to start work as early as 6:30am.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: the list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
  • Performs cashiering and other clerical duties to relieve subordinates during peak work periods.
  • Searches records to assist subordinates in locating and reconciling posting errors on customers' invoices, such as hotel bills or sales tickets, or compares cash register totals with receipts on register to verify accuracy of transactions.
  • Withdraws monies from bank and keeps custody of operating funds, or retains next day's operating funds from daily receipts.
  • Allocates operating fund to cashiers stations
  • Totals and summarizes funds received, endorses checks, and prepares bank deposit slip.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Prepare and distribute Flash reports and daily sales to management daily.
  • Records all daily sales in latest edition of Acumcatica. Reviews all entries posted by cash office personnel.
  • Issues verbal and written warnings to department managers for staff.
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
  • Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Oversees Accounting Cash Office Assistants. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
Qualifications:
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Educations and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of guests, managers, executives and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interrupt an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Must have a valid Wisconsin Driver's License
Other Qualifications:
  • Must have knowledge and experience using the 10-key calculator. Must have prior cash handling experience.
Professional, tactful, analytical, accurate, and self-motivated. Requires the ability to operate various office equipment to include a computer, voice mail, copier, fax, calculator, and projectors. Requires the ability to operate with various software such as word processing, spreadsheets and database. Ability to act independently with little supervision. Working knowledge of the hospitality industry. Well organized, detail oriented, and a creative thinker. Efficiently handles multiple duties.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with arms and hands. The employee is regularly required to walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move a minimum of 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move a maximum of 25 pounds with assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, and extreme heat.
