SUMMARY: Admissions Supervisors are trained to work in various areas within the Admissions department of Soaky Mountain Waterpark with the purpose of being able to assist on the line in the various areas as well as have knowledge of the areas to be able to supervise Admissions Attendants. These Admissions positions include: parking booth, ticket sales, season pass sales and processing, bag check, ticket scanning, and the Guest Services tent. Parking booth work entails taking payment for parking, scanning RFID wristbands of season pass holders who have already paid for season parking, and scanning barcodes for parking that was purchased online. Ticket sales includes the selling of daily admission tickets to guests. Season pass sales and processing includes season passes that were purchased online. When in bag check, employees check bags of guests before allowing entry to the park to ensure no banned items are permitted into the park. Ticket scanning includes scanning daily admission tickets and season passes to ensure they are valid before allowing guests entry to the park. The Guest Services tent is the location where all cabana rentals are checked in before guests are permitted to enter their cabanas. It also includes the selling of cabanas for day-of use as well as assisting with general questions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Parking Booth: taking payment for parking, scanning RFID wristbands of season pass holders who have already paid for season parking, and scanning barcodes for parking that was purchased online. This requires use of a Point of Sale system, ability to read and write, and basic understanding of US currency. Sitting, standing, reaching, and basic communication skills are involved.
  • Ticket Sales: selling of daily admission tickets to guests. This requires use of a Point of Sale system, ability to read and write, and basic understanding of US currency. Sitting, standing, reaching, and basic communication skills are involved. Season pass sales and processing includes the selling of season passes as well as processing season passes that were purchased online. This requires use of a Point of Sale system, ability to read and write, and basic understanding of US currency. Sitting, standing, reaching, and basic communication skills are involved.
  • Bag Check: Examining bag/container contents of guests before allowing entry to the park to ensure that no banned items are permitted into the park. This requires standing, use of hands to guide dowels while inspecting bags, and basic communication skills.
  • Ticket Scanning: scanning daily admission tickets and season passes to ensure they are valid before allowing guests entry to the park. This requires the use of an iPad and an RFID scanner. Standing, ability to read the information on the iPad, and basic communication skills are involved.
  • Guest Services: check in cabana rentals before guests are permitted to enter their cabanas. It also includes the selling of cabanas for day-of use as well as assisting with general questions. This requires use of a Point of Sale system, ability to read and write, and basic understanding of US currency. Sitting, standing, reaching, and basic communication skills are involved.
  • Golf Cart: Assist with employee and guest transport via golf cart.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with daily functions in all areas of the Admissions department. Supervise Admissions Attendants to ensure they are working efficiently. Answering guest inquiries and complaints in person as well as via phone and email. Count the daily deposits of parking, ticket sales, and season pass sales.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Level 3
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Level 3
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Level 2
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, on fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: Level 4
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations re only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
  • Tennessee Driver’s License or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate people.

  • Hands on manager, well organized, detail oriented, creative thinker.
  • Skilled in problem solving and staff training.

  • Requires the ability to operate various office equipment to include a computer, word processing, spreadsheets, voice mail, copier, fax, and calculator.
  • Requires a good understanding of company policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of resort amenities, room designs, and general golf knowledge.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations

  • Follows all resort and office policies and standard operating procedures
