What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ropes Course Attendant position at Wilderness Resort?
SUMMARY: Works both on the Ropes Course (with heights up to 32’) and at ground level to monitor guest behavior, insure safety, and assist guests with any questions, concerns, or difficulties with the attraction. Will be required to harness guests of all ages and attach them to the ropes course. Must be able to cross all obstacles of the ropes course and complete rescues as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
Daily inspection of all safety equipment and the course itself.
Harnessing and completing pre-flight safety checks of each participant at the attraction.
Explaining rules, checking requirements (clothing, height, and weight) and answering guest questions for every participant.
Walking all obstacles and monitoring participant activity and behaviors while on the course.
Must remember takedown commands and procedures and be ready to take action in an emergency at any moment (may have to lower a guest from the course to ground level using a belay system).
Must wear a whistle at all times while working the attraction and have access to a radio if on ground level.
Completion of practice takedowns monthly.
Must maintain an Operator Certification through RCI and complete the Re-Certification process yearly. (Will be trained by an RCI certified Operator Trainer onsite at Wilderness.)
General cleaning of the arcade after close and during slow times. (Vacuuming, sweeping, trash pick-ups, wiping down games etc.)
All other duties assigned by manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 17 years of age
Weight may not exceed 300 lbs.
Height may not exceed 6’ 8”
Height must be at least 48” and must be able to reach the overhead tracking system with at least one hand without assistance
Excellent communications skills and the ability to remain calm in an emergency is required.
Ability to act independently with little supervision
Requires a good understanding of company policies and procedures
Ability to handle stressful situations
Good attendance and punctual
Exhibits professionalism
Exhibits good grooming habits
Wears the proper uniform
Works efficiently
Follows all resort and office policies and standard operating procedures
Conducts themselves in a professional manner with a positive attitude
