What are the responsibilities and job description for the Soaky Bar & Cabana Manager position at Wilderness Resort?
SUMMARY: The Bar & Cabana Manager is responsible for the operation of Bar Outlets, operation of cabana services, and helps manage all alcoholic aspects at Soaky Mountain Waterpark. This includes oversight of all services relative to bars and cabanas. The Bar and Cabana Manager will work with the F&B Director to keep current on product needs for all outlets, keeping in line with pricing and budgeted costs. The Bar and Cabana Manager is also responsible for ensuring inventory levels are current with the level of outlet demand. This includes, but is not limited to: ordering, staffing levels, inventory, budgets, and responsible serving of alcohol, adhering to all cash handling policies and procedures, outlet cleanliness and ensuring products meet the highest standard. The Bar and Cabana Manager reports to the Assistant Food and Beverage Director and may be assigned additional responsibilities as they arise
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
Keep the Outlets clean and organized to ensure highest level of customer service.
Maintain product inventory at par levels, assuring proper rotation, storage of products and control of flow of inventory for each outlet.
Work with Assistant Food and Beverage Director to increase the gross revenue from each outlet through menu updates, pricing and special offers.
Responsible for hiring and training all outlet personnel, including, but not limited to: cash-handling policies and procedures, handling of alcohol items for responsible serving and maintaining a sanitary work environment so Health Dept. inspection scores are at the highest level possible.
Ensure all staff attend a certified ABC class and an onsite responsible Serving Class.
Ensure all staff use and are properly trained on our EasyBar pour system.
Oversee and manage daily staffing needs. Complete mastery of all duties relative to the Outlets, including but not limited to: bartending and cabana hosting.
Maintains and manages budgets for each outlet. Responsible for updating price changes, as they happen, to determine accurate product costs.
Ensure monthly inventories are taken on the required date and turned into Accounting in a timely manner.
Comply with all applicable company policies and procedures – including, but not limited to: uniform and personal cleanliness requirements, documenting and reporting Associate injuries, corrective action, associate reviews and all those as reflected in and apart from the company handbook.
Follows off season plan developed by Director of F&B.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages and directly supervises subordinate supervisors and front-line staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Level 4
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Level 4
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of guests, managers, executives and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Level 4
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Level 4
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Tennessee Driver’s License or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment
Ability to be covered under Company insurance policy to drive Company vehicles.
