What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood - Assistant Director position at Wildflowers Learning Center?
We are searching for an energetic Assistant Director for our movement & wellness based preschool & childcare. The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting the Center Director in ensuring the health, safety, and quality of education for all children within the center’s care. Under the direction of the Center Director, the Assistant Director collaborates with staff to ensure that curriculum and classroom activities are properly delivered, and that the needs of the students and the goals of the center are met appropriately. The ideal candidate enjoys working with kids, parents and staff members; and is comfortable stepping in as a teacher, when needed.
Duties
- Ensure the happiness, quality of program and safety of all the children at The Well
- Support school coverage
- Deliver on the expectations of The Well to treat our customers with the highest standard of service
- Assist the Director with licensing.
- Provides support to the classrooms and teachers to offer the best learning environment and work place
- Supports the implementation and supervision of the licensing rules
- Supports staff meetings
- Leads the daily tasks when the Director is out
- Supports the training of new staff members
- Ensure and delegate to ensure the cleanliness of the facility is impeccable
- Other tasks may include but are not limited to: maintenance requests, basic maintenance and repairs, cleanliness and organization
Requirements
- Passionate about working with children and families
- At least 21 years of age
- High school diploma
- Bachelor’s degree in child care or related field (preferred)
- Meet training and experience requirements in one of the DCF-approved combinations as stated in the rules book. (please ask The Well to provide additional information if unclear) (preferred)
- Possess certificate from The Registry, verifying training requirements have been met (preferred)
- Minimum Registry level 12, with desire to obtain level 14
- Teaching experience
