Position Overview:
We are seeking a Construction Stormwater Inspector to perform field inspections and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This hybrid position offers a mix of fieldwork and office-based tasks, with the flexibility to work remotely when not in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct weekly and rain event SWPPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan) inspections by walking active construction sites, observing erosion control measures in relation to the SWPPP, and collecting water quality samples.
- Document findings and prepare detailed inspection reports in the field using a smart phone app.
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with stormwater regulations and best management practices (BMPs).
- Participate in training and certification programs provided by Wildland Services, LLC.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software.
- A valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field sites.
- Ability to traverse active construction sites in all weather conditions.
- Fundamental knowledge of interpreting construction drawings and plans.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental science, building construction, forestry, or a related field.
