What are the responsibilities and job description for the Development Coordinator position at Wildlife Safari?
Position Overview
The Development Coordinator works alongside the Development Strategist in recruiting, retaining, and maintaining a good rapport with donors and sponsors.
Responsibilities
- Meet weekly with the Development Strategist to discuss fundraising calendar and tasks
- Attending the monthly development committee meeting
- Implementing the development calendar activities, under supervision and direction of the Development Strategist:
- Appeal letters
- Corporate sponsorship appeals
- Foundation grants
- Donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, recognition and stewardship activities
- Approaching corporations for sponsorships and/or in-kind donations.
- Running annual Benefit Dinner.
- Providing Safari tours to mid-level donors
- Arranging Safari tours with Executive Director or Board of Directors with major donors
- Working with the Marketing Department to communicate with donors that contact Safari through social media
- Conduct foundation and corporation prospect research
- Work with Marketing Department to solicit donations through social media
- Logging donor interactions (e.g. thank you calls made by Executive Director and Board members to donors) into Donor Perfect
- Other duties as assigned

- Must possess ability to juggle multiple responsibilities
- Must have leadership and organizational skills
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Must be able to pass a drug test, including for marijuana
- Candidates must agree to a background check
- Self starter as well as a team player
