What are the responsibilities and job description for the Habitat Restoration Crew Member position at Wildlife & Wetlands Solutions?
Full-time job beginning mid-April 2025. Starting Compensation: $18-22 depending on experience and qualifications ( $1/hr after commercial applicator exams):
- Must be able to operate and maintain a chainsaw
- Must have or be able to acquire a commercial pesticide applicator’s license
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be in good physical condition - DOT physical and drug panel required for qualified candidate
- Must be willing and able to work in rough terrain and inclement weather when necessary
- Must be willing and able to work weekends, holidays and odd hours when necessary
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Native and invasive plant identification
- Treatment and/or removal of invasive plants both mechanically and chemically
- Chainsaw operation - cutting trees and shrubs
- Planting trees and shrubs
- Farming – assisting in planting food plots and cover crops
- Operation of a GPS unit in the field
- Daily record keeping
- General labor
Extensive overnight travel is required. Potential out-of-state projects are likely.
Travel expenses are paid for by WWS including $40 per diem for any overnight stays.
Full time employees will be given a $500 reimbursable uniform allowance after 90 days, seasonal employees will be given a $200 reimbursable uniform allowance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 50 per week
