School Nurse, RN Leave Position
Salary range: Pay Rate of $37.00 per hour
Leave Position will run from the beginning of June - December and includes the 6 week summer program.

Wildwood School provides a comprehensive educational program for students with autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities to prepare them to be as independent as possible. Academic, social, employment, and functional skills are taught to each student as driven by their Individual Educational Plan (IEP), needs, and interests.

Requirements
Education /Experience /Skills
Required
- An Associate's degree in Applied Science in Nursing (A. A.) or equivalent from a regionally accredited two-year college or nursing school .
- NYS License as a Registered Professional Nurse
- Computer: Word Processing; email
- Four year nursing degree preferred.
- Previous experience working with people with disabilities preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred
- May instruct classes in subjects such as childcare and first aid and implements nursing policies to meet emergencies.
- Cooperates with school personnel in identifying and meeting social, emotional, and physical needs of special education school children.
- Administers first aid, and maintains health records of students.
- Counsels students in good health habits.
- Assists Lead nurse in ordering first aid equipment and supplies and in reviewing nursing policies and procedures
- Gathers medical information from health professionals treating students.
- Serves as a medical resource for students, staff and families and compiles cumulative health records on students.
Additional Requirements:
- A valid New York State Driver’s License and ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage are required.
- Required to complete, pass, and use CALM training, provided by the school, which includes de-escalation strategies and approved protective holds and movements for students.
