What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher position at Wildwood School?
Wildwood School is an urban, coed, college-preparatory, K-12 enrolling 750 students in three divisions on two campuses in West Los Angeles. Elementary Substitute Teacher reports to Assistant Directors of Elementary School and Assistant to the Director of Elementary.
Job Responsibilities vary and may include, although not be limited to the following:
- Substitute teaching in primary and specialist classrooms
- Substitute teaching onsite, working remotely with students who may be off-site
- Day-to-day support of campus life as necessary:
- Drop off /pick up duties
- Monitoring of snack/lunch
- Managing student movement around campus
- Yard supervision
- Other duties as directed
Qualifications:
Required knowledge, skills & abilities:
- Knowledge of child cognitive development and different learning styles
- Knowledge of K-5 multiple subjects
- Ability and willingness to assist on campus as needed
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community
- Computer and Internet skills
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid California Teaching Credential or Permit 4 years of classroom experience
- 3 years working with students as a teacher, teacher intern, or teaching assistant preferred
