The position includes providing direct support and instruction for students with identified special needs in the special education and general education setting under the direction of a special education teacher. It will include supporting individual or small groups of students in one or more of the following areas: expressive and receptive language, social skills, self regulation, sensory processing and academic instruction.
This staff position works closely with the special educators to implement positive behavioral supports including gathering data, implementing individualized behavioral plans, employing effective de-escalation strategies.
