SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Temporary Communications and Marketing Assistant will provide integral support to the firm’s Communications and Marketing teams by assisting in the execution of strategic initiatives, including media relations, internal communications, and social media management.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in the development and coordination of firm announcements, award nominations, media materials, and social media posts
- Monitor and distribute media coverage, compile daily media summaries, and maintain media contact lists
- Support the execution of internal communications efforts, including announcements, campaigns and events
- Assist with content creation for social media platforms, ensuring brand consistency and tone
- Coordinate with internal departments to gather information and facilitate timely communication deliverables
- Perform administrative tasks as needed to support the Communications and Marketing teams, including project tracking and file management
- Work on special Communications and Marketing projects or research tasks as assigned

- Interest in corporate communications, public relations, marketing, or related fields; familiarity with the legal or professional services industry preferred but not required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a Bachelor’s degree program in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, English, or a related field
- Prior internship or relevant academic experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or a professional office environment preferred
- Experience with writing, editing, and content creation
- Familiarity with AP style preferred
- Familiarity with media monitoring tools, content management systems, and design software is a plus
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Position operates in a professional office environment which is usually quiet to moderate
- Position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets
- Position requires that the employee be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- This position is primarily a sedentary position. However, some duties and responsibilities may require the employee to lift files, open filing cabinets, bend or stand, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, occasionally move about to access office equipment, file cabinets, etc.
- May require employee to carry or lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
