Surgical Team Member

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our Cardiac Operating Room team at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. As a member of our team, you will contribute to delivering high-quality patient care while working collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room, adhering to strict infection control protocols


• Prepare equipment and instruments for surgery, ensuring everything is in working order


• Work closely with the surgical team to ensure seamless patient care throughout the procedure


• Pass surgical instruments to the surgeon and assistant as needed


• Assist with patient preparation and transfer to the recovery room


• Collaborate with the team to maintain a safe and efficient operating environment

What You'll Need:

• Graduation from an accredited operating room technical program


• Certified Surgical Technologist through the NBSTSA or NCCT


• Current BLS certification


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
