Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Prior knowledge of basic principles of sterilization, surgical instrumentation, and disinfecting is preferred. Communication skills, listening abilities, ability to deal with stress, ability to react to emergency and crisis situations.
- Must be a registered certified central service technician within 18 months of hire.
- Current BLS from the AHA or ARC
About the Job:
- Sterilizes, cleans, wraps, stores and distributes supplies, instruments, and equipment used in patient care.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
