Position Information Job Title Adjunct Fire & Rescue Instructor - WDCE Job Description The Adjunct Instructor Candidate will be responsible for proper instruction of the material to be presented. The Instructor Candidate will be responsible for monitoring the classroom and offsite locations of didactic delivery to the students. The Instructor Candidate will ensure proper behavior of all students to ensure an adequate learning environment. The Instructor Candidate will instruct in a safe manner and not allow unnecessary dangerous or unsafe activity.
Instruct : WLF-2205, Wildland Fire Chain Saws Full Time or Part Time Part Time Essential Duties Summary The Instructor Candidate Must be in a physical condition to perform the duties of the required instruction and skill set. Required Qualifications The Adjunct Instructor Candidate must have at least 5 years of experience as a firefighter and be in good standing within the organization that he / she serves. Preferred Qualifications It is preferred but not required for non-certification classes, that the Instructor Candidate be a Qualified Instructor by the Standards set forth by the NC Office of the State Fire Marshall (NC OSFM). For all Qualification classes, The Instructor Candidate MUST meet the outlined requirements from the NC OSFM. Physical Demands Working Conditions : Work is primarily performed under general supervision in an office or classroom setting with appropriate climate controls. Travel, early morning, evening, and weekend work may be required.
Essential functions of this position require lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate.
Medium work : Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally; involves sitting only occasionally, walking and standing are required regularly, incumbents may be required to kneel, crouch / squat, crawl, climb, stoop, turn / twist, balance, reach, or handle.
