Behavioral Health Technician

Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician Location: Wilkes, North Carolina

Position Summary

To maintain the day-to-day operations of the facility for the scheduled shift. As a leader in the department working cohesively with the Facility Program Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure that the day-to-day operations of the Housing Department are adhered to
• Write BHT daily assignments as directed
• Work cohesively with all departments for the common purpose of client care and client safety
• Communicate all BHT concerns to the Facility Director
• Communicate any unsafe or in need of repair conditions of the physical residence to theHousing Manager and document in shift reports
• Stay in constant interaction with the Housing Manager
• Communicate all staffing shortages to the Housing Manager directly
• Communicate all client emergent situations in a calm and organized manner to appropriateparties
• Maintain customer satisfaction through positive interactions with clients
• Ensure client’s immediate needs are met
• Redirect clients in a respectful manner when necessary
• Report all adverse client behaviors and concerns
• Maintain the physical residence per Joint Commission/Carf and State standards
• Maintain the physical residence per company operational systems, including cleaning of theinside and outside residence and clinical buildings
• Assign transportation to the BHT’s; inclusive of following the Transportation Policy
• Supervise all client activities
• Make rounds and document as required
• Observe and conduct Urine Drug Screens
• Observe self-administration of client medication and document in the MOR’s
• Follow all state, federal, CARF and State standards
• Follow the client schedules as defined and ensure the clients are present and on time
• Assist in training BHT staff
• Facilitate client groups under the direction of the Program Director
• Support and demonstrate adherence to Cameron Ridge Treatment Center Code of Ethics andConduct and all personnel policies and procedures
• Maintain appropriate professional certificates and credentials
• Other duties as assignedEducation, Experience and Qualifications
• High School Diploma
• Experience in the substance abuse/mental health care field
• Knowledge of the 12 StepsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Ability to communicate clearly to supervisors, co-workers and clients
• Basic computer knowledge
• Ability to follow through with direct supervisor and other department staff
• Goal/target-oriented
• Self-motivated
• Ability to work independently or with a team
• Highly organized
• Ability to follow direction as instructed and follow through on tasks assigned
• Possess a positive attitude

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
