Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Development and Marketing to lead and execute our fundraising, development, and marketing initiatives. The Director will play a critical role in advancing our mission by securing financial resources, fostering donor relationships, identifying strategic growth opportunities, and enhancing our public outreach and branding efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including major gifts, grants, corporate sponsorships, annual giving campaigns, and special events.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, foundations, and community stakeholders to secure funding.
- Identify and pursue grant opportunities; oversee the grant application process, reporting, and compliance.
- Actively engage with local organizations, businesses, and community leaders to foster meaningful partnerships and strengthen Wilkes County's recovery ecosystem through collaborative initiatives and outreach efforts.
- Collaborate with the executive leadership team to align fundraising goals with organizational priorities.
- Oversee donor recognition and stewardship programs to ensure donor engagement and retention.
- Plan and execute fundraising events, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and goals.
- Develop compelling fundraising materials, including grant proposals, donor reports, and impact stories.
- Maintain accurate records of donor interactions and contributions using donor management software.
- Lead the development and execution of marketing campaigns to enhance brand awareness and engagement.
- Manage social media accounts, website content, and other digital communication channels to effectively communicate the organization’s mission and impact.
- Create marketing materials, including brochures, newsletters, and press releases.
- Stay informed of fundraising and marketing trends, best practices, and opportunities within the nonprofit sector.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, communications, marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related role within the nonprofit sector.
- Proven track record of securing grants and donor funding.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills.
- Experience in donor database management and fundraising software.
- Proficiency in digital marketing strategies and social media management.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Passion for the mission of Wilkes Recovery Revolution, Inc. and a commitment to promoting recovery and wellness.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification or equivalent.
- Experience working with recovery-oriented organizations or health and human service nonprofits.
- Knowledge of North Carolina's philanthropic landscape and recovery-focused funding opportunities.
