Position Summary: The Front Office is responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests, ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process, and assisting with general hotel operations. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently, especially during overnight shifts.
Schedule:
- 2-3 days: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- 2 days: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays
Key Roles / Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist guests with check-in and check-out procedures
- Answer phone calls and respond to guest inquiries in a professional manner
- Process reservations, cancellations, and modifications accurately
- Handle payments, cash transactions, and maintain accurate records
- Assist guests with requests, including room service, directions, and local recommendations
- Monitor security cameras and ensure guest safety during overnight shifts
- Perform light cleaning and other tasks as needed, such as stocking front desk, guest market and business center supplies and maintaining lobby carpet, floor, tables, and chairs clean.
- During night audit shift; turn on kitchen equipment.
- Prepare reports and communicate shift details with the next shift staff
- Follow hotel policies and procedures to ensure high-quality service
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Previous hotel front desk or customer service experience preferred
- Proficiency in using hotel management software (training provided)
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently during night shifts
- Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
- Basic math and cash-handling skills
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays
Working Conditions:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Positions self to install equipment, including under desks.
- Moves throughout the building to access files.
- Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
- Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
- Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
- Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
