Position Summary: The Heavy Equipment Lube Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance services on heavy construction equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, haul trucks, and other machinery. This role ensures that all equipment is properly serviced and maintained to maximize uptime and meet operational demands.

Key Roles / Responsibilities: 

• Perform daily inspections and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment.
• Change engine oil, hydraulic oil, filters, grease points, and fluids as scheduled.
• Check and refill coolant, transmission, and differential fluids.
• Inspect and report wear or damage on hoses, belts, fittings, and tires.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation for each piece of equipment.
• Operate lube service truck safely and efficiently to travel between job sites.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are used safely and maintained in good condition.
• Communicate clearly with equipment operators and mechanics about machine condition and service status.
• Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and DOT regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience servicing and lubricating heavy equipment (preferred).
• Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and lubrication points.
• Must have a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred or ability to obtain).
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must be safety-conscious and detail-oriented.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn more advanced maintenance tasks.

Working Conditions:

• Bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting stand, walk, kneel, stoop, squat, pull, push, climb, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and see and standing (occasionally) for long periods of time.
• The essential duties of this position require moderate to heavy lifting and carrying.
• Must be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, attics, and tunnels and demonstrate manual dexterity and be able to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Exposure to moderate noise levels, vibrations, and bright lights; and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases; and all climate types including hot and cold temperatures, humidity, rain, snow, etc.
• Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection and hard hats when needed.
• React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
• Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions. 
• Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions. 
• Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed. 
• Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
