Position Summary: The Security Install Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of security systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, alarms, and other related equipment. This role ensures all security systems function effectively and comply with company standards and industry regulations.

Key Roles / Responsibilities

  • Install, program, and configure security systems, including CCTV, alarm systems, access control, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Upgrade and expand existing security systems as needed.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to security hardware and software.
  • Provide support to end users on system operation and troubleshooting steps.
  • Ensure all installations comply with industry standards, local regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, service requests, and repairs.
  • Document system configurations and update logs after modifications.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including IT, security personnel, and facility managers, to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Provide training to employees on security system usage when required.
  • Maintain professional relationships with vendors and service providers.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification in electronics, security systems, or a related field preferred.
  • Industry certifications such as NICET, ESA, or equivalent are a plus.
  • Knowledge of various security systems, including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and alarm monitoring.
  • Experience working with tools and equipment used in security system installation.
  • Strong understanding of electrical wiring, network configurations, and system integrations.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting security systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members and customers.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel to different sites as needed.
  • Availability for on-call work or after-hours emergency service.

Working Conditions:

  • Bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting stand, walk, kneel, stoop, squat, pull, push, climb, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and see and standing (occasionally) for long periods of time.
  • The essential duties of this position require moderate to heavy lifting and carrying.
  • Must be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, attics, and tunnels and demonstrate manual dexterity and be able to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels, vibrations, and bright lights; and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases; and all climate types including hot and cold temperatures, humidity, rain, snow, etc.
  • Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection and hard hats when needed.
  • React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions. 
  • Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions. 
  • Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed. 
  • Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
