Job Summary
The Palletizer plays a vital role in our operations by ensuring that egg cartons are efficiently packed into boxes or pallets, adhering to customer specifications for safe transportation. Working under general supervision, your performance will be evaluated through inspections and the results of your work, contributing to the overall success of our packaging operations.
Essential Job Functions
- Ensure pallets are in good condition before use.
- Properly stack cases and place them on skids.
- Stack boxes onto pallets efficiently and safely.
- Pull boxes off conveyor belts at a fast pace.
- Confirm all cases are labeled correctly; attach labels if missing.
- Correctly label boxes and pallets.
- Stack cases straight and keep orders organized.
- Place damaged cases in designated area for rework.
- Comply with USDA regulations and safety programs.
- Document pallet completion according to the production plan.
- Wrap pallets per customer requirements.
- Resolve immediately correctable issues.
- Operate equipment safely, such as tape machines and pallet jacks.
- Report mechanical problems to the supervisor.
- Follow safety rules and report unsafe conditions.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Assist in effective communication with plant supervision and staff.
- Perform other tasks as requested by management.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the processing team.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to use a computer
- Reading and comprehension skills
- Must have the physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks that involve reaching, bending, twisting, and lifting overhead.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods on various surfaces.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
- Dependability and strong communication skills
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a similar role or industry
- Additional certifications related to packaging or logistics
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and safety protocols
- Prior egg grading machine operator experience
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
