Position: Academic Coordinator
Willamette Valley Academy is seeking a full-time office coordinator to support the day-to-day operations of the school during designated hours between 8:30AM and 5:00PM. The ideal candidate is highly organized, demonstrates excellent communication skills, and feels comfortable engaging with elementary and middle school students and adults.
Candidates with a college degree specializing in behavior or education and have experience working with students in a school setting will qualify for a higher salary range.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts oneself following the highest professional standards while working in the best interest of students and while engaging with students, staff, and parents
- Supports the creation and maintence of an safe and warm environment while also holding students to high behavior expectations.
- Use our intercampus shuttle to transport students between schools and campuses
- Replenish school supplies by picking up items from nearby store.
- Maintains accurate and timely attendance data
- Creates, organizes, and shares student data following established protocols that respects student privacy
- Supervises students during periods outside of instructional hours such as lunch and transitions between classes
- Use office phone line to make and receive calls
- During summer programs, use prescribed curriculum to teach elementary reading and writing.
- Assists Academic Director and Principal with other duties as assigned
Skills & Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Office computer skills such as email, word processing, sheets, and simple data systems
- Able to drive a 15-seat van to transport students between campuses and schools
- Current driver's license and a clean driving record
- Reliably commute to work and arrive on-time.
- Willingness to learn and adhere to all school procedures
- Able to supervise up to 45 students
- Ability to adapt to new assigned duties to meet the current needs of the school
