What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Middle School Advanced Math and Chemistry Teacher position at Willamette Valley Academy?
Willamette Valley Academy is seeking a part-time experienced teacher to join our school for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and inspiring students to learn and develop their intellectual and emotional capacities.
This position is for teaching the following advanced math and chemistry for gifted learners grades 6 through 8:
- One math section ranging from Algebra 1 to Pre-Calculus
- STEM Chemistry
- Additional hours teaching STEM courses, depending on teacher availability and school need.
A part-time teacher in this role will provide instruction from 9:00AM to 11:15AM. Additional hours can be arranged depending on school need and teacher availability.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver in-school instruction in Math and Physics
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and fellow teachers
- Teach various instructional methods
- Prepare and/or administer assessments to evaluate student performance
- Observe and record students’ progress and provide parents with information about their children’s development and behavior
- Attend teacher training sessions and workshops when needed

- Proven experience as a teacher
- Ability to teach in a creative manner and inspire students with their own passion for learning
- Willingness to adhere to all school’s policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Ability to act as a mediator between students and their parents
