Supervisor Capacity: WBE/Casino Accounting Team Members
Salary: $125,000 to $150,000 DOE
Job Summary: The CFO's responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, risk and development, building and maintaining professional relationships, business compliance, managing and running the financial department for all WBE Enterprises. The Casino operates under certain sets of federal rules when it comes to the National Indian Gaming Commission oversight. Understanding the distinctions of the Section 17 Enterprise business structure and that of the Casino is essential. WBE Enterprises includes: Shoalwater Bay Casino, Early Learning Center, Tokeland Cannabis, Georgetown 76 Station, Shoalwater Seafood LLC., and the Tradewinds Motel.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring continued regulatory compliance with application Federal, State, and Tribal Laws regulations, and ordinances; BSA/Title 31, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); internal controls, and policy and procedures
- Thorough understanding of the organization’s financial position and issuing periodic reports on the organization’s financial stability, liquidity, and growth
- Analyzing and directing all cost accounting procedures, overseeing and directing budgeting, audit functions, tax liabilities, Casino and Enterprise accounting, purchasing, long range forecasting, and insurance activities
- Providing leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team.
- Advising on long-term business goals, investments and financial planning
- Directing the Controller in developing, submitting for review, and administering policies and procedures, and acquiring necessary software/equipment and applications to maintain adequate accounting controls and services
- Developing and maintaining positive relations with senior management, external partners and stakeholders
- Overseeing and directing the preparation and issuance of the annual financial reports
- Directing and analyzing studies of general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the organization’s policies and operations
- Establishing and maintaining contacts with Federal and State organizations, financial institutions, and the investment community
- Deploying a management philosophy that encourages and effectuates teamwork, planning, communication, responsibility and accountability
- Additional duties within CFO job scope, may be assigned by the CEO or Board of Directors
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a closely related field; ten years demonstrated successful experience in a progressively responsible operations management position, tribal management or corporate experience; and at least five years in an executive senior leadership capacity managing directors and diverse teams; or a combination of education and experience. Additional years of equivalent experience may be substituted for required degree.
- Familiarity with Tribal owned businesses including federal charter under Section 17 of the Indian Reorganization Act (IRA).
- Demonstrated successful experience in Tribal economic development, including knowledge of funding resources, professional organizations, contracting and proven business development strategies.
- Proven success working with a board of directors
- Must apply and comply with all Tribal Gaming Regulation Authority (TRGA) regulations and obtain a TGRA Gaming License.
- Experience in operating C-store/fuel businesses preferred.
- Experience in operating a casino and tribal gaming business.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, identifying and communicating new ideas to grow and accelerate new and existing businesses working with the CEO.
- Must possess strong administrative and organizational skills as demonstrated through past work experience.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret various reports and documents, financial records and legal information.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and possession of current driver’s license.
