- Education level - Master's Degree from an approved institution with a major in educational administration or the accepted equivalent required.
- Certification or Licensure - Appropriate Missouri Administrative Certificate.
- Experience desired - Successful teaching experience in a secondary school required. Five years of successive teaching experience in a secondary school is preferred. Minimum of three years head coaching experience required.
- Other requirements - Must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the Board of Education. Strong leadership and planning skills in the area of administration, management and evaluation. Sensitivity to the needs and objectives of the school and the school district.
- Directs the planning, implementation and evaluation of programming related to Middle School and High School activities and athletics while consistently adhering to the standards of MSHSAA and Willard R-2 Schools while contributing to the educational programs for all students in accordance with district policies and procedures.
- In conjunction with coaches, schedules all interscholastic athletic contests for grades 7-12.
- Hires officials for all home athletic contests; verifies officials on game day.
- Schedules necessary personnel, including gatekeepers, scorekeepers, clock operators and chain crews, to work at home contests; verifies workers on game day and authorizes payment for services.
- Coordinates all drama, musical, athletic and school organization activities to establish contest and concert dates and gym availability
- Coordinates/schedules all gym use.
- Works as the school's official representative for athletics at all local, conference, district and state events.
- Works in conjunction with MSHSAA to ensure the school operates within all state guidelines.
- Coordinates school-community use of facilities, and assigns personnel for activities requiring supervision. Helps supervise night activities in cooperation with building administrators.
- Supervises and evaluates all coaches, sponsors and other staff members as assigned; provides feedback for continuous improvement and seeks feedback from stakeholders via surveys or other methods as appropriate.
- Advertises athletic staff vacancies; receives applications, oversees the screening process; schedules interviews; makes recommendations for filling vacancies.
- Publicizes and promotes school activities.
- Assumes responsibility for preparing the activity budget as delegated. Reviews and approves purchase orders for equipment and supplies for athletic activities.
- Maintains current inventories for each sport.
- Determines student eligibility in regard to MSHSAA and Willard R-II School District standards.
- Assumes responsibility for contract relations for all interscholastic contests.
- Arranges transportation for organizations and athletic teams.
- Coordinates all summer camps.
- Fulfills any other duties that may be assigned dealing with the athletic/activities programs.
- Will ensure Board policies, rules and regulations, as well as the directives of the superintendent and the guidelines of the program are observed.
- Assists other administrative staff members in general discipline of all students in relation to activities.
- Will work as liaison between all athletic and student activity organizations and administration.
- Responsible for coordination of the athletic insurance program.
- Supports and encourages sportsmanship in activities and athletics for students, staff and community.
- Acts as the district liaison for all athletic booster club activities.
- Provides oversight of the student drug testing program.

General Summary: This position will oversee Athletics and Activities, grades 7-12. They will be expected to communicate and partner with the Middle School Athletic Director to create an environment conducive to student achievement through activities and athletics. Must be able to formulate positive relationships with students, parents and staff members, also demonstrate effective organization and communication within the school community. The Willard School District has a strong tradition of academic/activities/athletic excellence. Willard is also a member of the Central Ozark Conference, one of the leading academic, athletic and activities conferences in Missouri.
