We are currently seeking an experienced Tow Shop Mechanic to join our dynamic team and contribute to our ongoing success.
Job Summary: As a Tow Shop Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles in the towing fleet. You will work in a fast-paced environment where quick turnaround and attention to detail are critical. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled mechanic who enjoys problem-solving and working with a variety of vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on various types of vehicles, including trucks, tow trucks and shop equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical issues through inspections and troubleshooting.
- Repair and replace defective parts and components in both towing vehicles and customer vehicles.
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles to ensure they are roadworthy.
- Respond to emergency repair needs for the towing fleet.
- Perform oil changes, brake repairs, tire replacements, and other standard mechanic duties.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service history for all vehicles.
- Ensure that all work complies with safety and quality standards.
- Keep the shop clean and organized, ensuring tools and equipment are properly maintained.
- Assist with any other duties related to the operation of the tow shop.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional technical certification is a plus).
- Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably in a tow shop or automotive repair setting.
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and practices in automotive repair.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus).
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with towing and heavy-duty vehicles.
- ASE certification or similar mechanic certification.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, fuel systems, and transmission systems.
