Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Systems Engineer VIto lead and manage complex naval systems engineering projects in accordance with NAVSEA eCraft guidelines. The role involves overseeing system design, integration, and lifecycle support to ensure systems meet mission requirements and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead systems engineering efforts for naval systems acquisition, development, and sustainment.
- Develop and review technical documentation, including system specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), and system design descriptions.
- Perform requirements analysis, allocation, and traceability to ensure alignment with mission objectives.
- Conduct system integration and verification activities, including test planning and execution.
- Provide technical leadership during design reviews such as System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Critical Design Review (CDR).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including software, hardware, and logistics engineers, to ensure seamless system development and deployment.
- Support risk management processes, identifying, assessing, and mitigating technical risks.
- Stay updated on industry and NAVSEA standards, including MIL-STDs and best practices for system development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 10 - 15 years of experience in systems engineering, preferably within DoD or NAVSEA programs.
- Expertise in systems engineering processes, tools, and methodologies, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML.
- Familiarity with NAVSEA acquisition processes and eCraft labor category guidelines.
- Strong knowledge of lifecycle system development, from concept through sustainment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex engineering projects.
