We are seeking a Fund Accountant to perform accounting and administration functions for a mutual fund including: calculate and track daily, monthly and quarterly mutual fund transactions for several funds, such as Net Asset Valuations (NAVs), return calculations, asset reconciliations, etc.; process expenses and vendor payments for the funds; draft Board of Trustee’s materials, quarterly financial statements, as well as reports for mutual fund marketing and external reporting agencies. Other specific responsibilities may include:
This role is eligible for either a discretionary annual bonus (based on company, business unit and individual performance) and/or commission-based incentives.

We are seeking a Fund Accountant to perform accounting and administration functions for a mutual fund including: calculate and track daily, monthly and quarterly mutual fund transactions for several funds, such as Net Asset Valuations (NAVs), return calculations, asset reconciliations, etc.; process expenses and vendor payments for the funds; draft Board of Trustee’s materials, quarterly financial statements, as well as reports for mutual fund marketing and external reporting agencies. Other specific responsibilities may include:
- Prepare review materials for daily Net Asset Valuations (NAVs) for mutual funds. Prepare and maintain a daily comparison to fund benchmarks and other metrics and disseminate on timely basis.
- Review and report daily cash projections. Document large trades and resolve and discrepancies with fund administrator. Disseminate pertinent data to portfolio implementation and trading teams.
- Prepare supporting documentation and schedules for the quarterly Fund Fact sheets. Review Fact Sheets for completeness and accuracy.
- Process vendor payments, including intermediary payments for the funds and ensure fees are recorded appropriately on the general ledger accounting system. Review and analyze funds’ expense ratio calculations and monthly accruals.
- Assist in preparing audit work papers and Board of Trustee’s materials. Prepare first draft of the funds’ quarterly financial statements, as well as data for mutual fund marketing and external reporting agencies. Complete financial reporting and tax reporting checklists and documentation.
- Audit investment reports, cash statements, and supplemental reporting to verify that data is correctly posted and transactions properly classified. Investigate and resolve audit discrepancies.
- Participate in other projects as directed by the team’s manager.
- Additional responsibilities as requested.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 1 to 3 years accounting experience (either full-time or internship experience)
- Understanding of basic accounting.
- Strong PC literacy skills in a Windows environment with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access and Word)
- Ability to display consistently high attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of management
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills and work ethic
