Assist with client prospecting and client relationship development, seeking to gain understanding of client investment styles and needs. Accompany more experienced staff to sales meetings. Develop a comprehensive understanding of William Blair’s equity products and strategies. Seek to develop client relationships. Assist with cross selling efforts. Draft presentations for sales meetings.
Responsibilities Include But May Not Be Limited To
This role is eligible for either a discretionary annual bonus (based on company, business unit and individual performance) and/or commission-based incentives.

Salary Range
$80,000—$90,000 USD

Responsibilities Include But May Not Be Limited To
- Assist Healthcare Sector Specialist with client prospecting and client relationship development. Seek to gain an understanding of client investment styles and needs. Accompany sales professionals to client meetings. Participate in relationship building outings and events.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of William Blair’s equity products and pricing strategies. Attend research meetings, teach-ins and listen to analyst research findings.
- Develop relationships with counterparts at client organizations. Earn the trust and respect of client team through proactive communication, timely response to questions and the provision of extra effort to ensure client satisfaction.
- Seek opportunities to convey knowledge of equity research, products and investment opportunities to buy-side clients.
- Assist with cross-selling opportunities. Help identify possible leads through client interactions and research. Notify traders and more experienced staff to assist with the sales effort.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients when sales professionals are out of the office.
- Draft presentations for and participate in sales meetings.
- Assist with scheduling of roadshows, travel itineraries and expense reporting.
- Ensure all work transactions and products are aligned with firm and function policies, procedures and standards.
- Additional responsibilities as requested.
- Bachelor’s Degree required; major in science subject preferred.
- 1-3 years of financial experience preferred.
- Knowledge of the equity markets and passion for investing.
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity.
- Highly motivated, self-starter, and resourceful.
- Proven ability to multitask and manage changing priorities.
- Strong marketing, business development and selling skills.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- SIE Exam, Series 7 and 63 required (must be obtained within first 90 days) for U.S.
