Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Undergraduate Academic Director of the School of Nursing, Baton Rouge site, the administrative assistant performs duties relative to service of students, faculty, staff, and the general public in carrying out functions of the School of Nursing.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Assists the university in implementing the Statement of Purpose
- Assists the university in implementing the long-range institutional and financial plans
- Actively work at establishing positive relationships with faculty, staff, and students
- Participate in the annual evaluation of the effectiveness of the Business Office
- Responsible for the day-to-day student business related operations on the Baton Rouge site which include the following:
- Receipt payments on student accounts (AR)
- Receipt for payments for the General Ledger (G/L) including application fees and graduation fees
- Record payments and adjustments in CAMS
- Print student billing statements or schedules as needed
- Deposit payments received into the university account
- Assist students in resolving outstanding balances
- Assist students with questions about refunds
- Coordinate tutoring services and time cards as needed
- Assist with new student orientation and registration
- Assist with collection of outstanding accounts
- Remain cross-trained on other student services positions to provide student assistance during employee absences
- Serve as back-up for student services employees during lunch or absences
IT Responsibilities
- Deploy IT assets to end-users.
- Provide end-user computer and network support to faculty and staff.
- Manage support case work-flows for the Baton Rouge campus through the help desk ticketing system.
- Maintain an inventory of all technology assets on the Baton Rouge campus.
- Support student printing services and manage print kiosks.
- Work with vendors providing warranty services to PC hardware and other technology equipment.
- Work in conjunction with WCU IT to assist in resolving campus-to-campus network communication issues.
- Assist supervisor with duties as assigned
Physical Demands
- Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting
- Ability to travel daily to bank via personal or public transportation
- Ability to key payments into student accounting system
- Ability to respond verbally to students over the phone and in person
- Ability to lift 15 pounds
