Job description
William & Co., Foods, Inc. is a high quality meat distribution company located in Boston. We cut on site and deliver fresh meats to hotels, restaurants and homes in the Boston area.
We are currently looking to fill the position of delivery driver. We prefer someone with experience driving a box truck. We are looking for dependable, energetic candidates. Most shifts begin early in the morning and end in the afternoon (drivers may end their days in the later afternoon). After a full year's employment, employee begins accruing paid vacation time.
Duties
-Safely and efficiently operate a box truck to transport goods to customers
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items
- Follow delivery schedules and routes provided by the company, maintain clear communication with Shipping Manager
- Provide exceptional customer service by delivering orders in a timely manner and addressing any customer inquiries or concerns
- Ensure all deliveries were signed for and returned to the company at end of day
- Utilize navigation tools to determine the most efficient routes for deliveries
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and any incidents or issues encountered during transportation
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, reporting any mechanical issues to the appropriate department
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (No CDL required)
- Previous experience driving a box truck
- Ability to operate box trucks and navigate through various road conditions
- Familiarity with using pallet jacks for loading and unloading goods
- Experience with refrigerated trailers is a plus
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and long hours on the road
