What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paint Foreman position at William Grant Tank & Vessel?
William Grant Tank & Vessel, Inc. is currently looking to hire an experienced Paint Foreman to join our production team.
Essential job duties:
- Maintain a safe and clean work area, compliant with OSHA regulation and company policy
- Adhere to all applicable governing codes, customer specification, and company procedures
- Manage 3-4 hourly employees including scheduling, time and leave management, disciplinary action, safety enforcement, etc.
- Plan and coordinate paint activities including painting, sandblasting, rental equipment, strategic moves, etc.
- Review customer specifications
- Perform inspections and generate inspection reports including blast cleanliness, blast profile, wet/dry mills, etc.
- Generate and verify DTF mils before inspection
- Generate and maintain paint work orders and VOC logs
- Dispose of waste
Qualifications:
- Proven experience of commercial painting a must
- 5 years of supervisory experience
- Solid knowledge of the preparation and applications of paints and surface preparation materials to a wide variety of metal surfaces
- NACE certification preferred
- Familiar with OSHA safety guidelines, PPE requirements, and hazardous material handling, application, and disposal
- Proficient in English, English/Spanish bilingual preferred
- Excellent communication skills, listening, comprehension and feedback
- Strong team building and decision-making
- Quality minded focus
- High attention to detail
- Strong work ethic, and the ability to handle peak work times
Physical Requirements:
