Position Summary
Provide the leadership, initiative, and direction for a highly competitive NCAA Division I athletic program. Support the volleyball program’s mission to balance athletic success with academic excellence, acknowledging the critical role athletics plays in enhancing the academic experience. Uphold the standards of the university and the Athletic Department. Contribute to and collaborate with peers toward the growth and maintenance of the program’s culture, challenging and supporting each student-athlete to develop her leadership skills, maximize her athletic potential, and achieve her personal goals. Personally embody the program’s core virtues: hungry, humble, and intentional.
Conditions of Employment
- Must meet physical requirements for the job, including the ability to participate in and lead strenuous physical activities.
- Must work nights and weekends.
- Frequent overnight travel during the week and on weekends on a monthly basis throughout the year.
- This position is subject to prolonged periods of sitting and standing indoors.
- Yearly completion of NCAA compliance certification.
- CPR certification or completed within 6 months of employment.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and independently problem solve
- Demonstrated experience in team building, culture growth, and team experience
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with peers, administrators, and student-athletes
- Demonstrated strength using and implementing technology to teach game concepts and skills
- Demonstrated strength in aggregating, synthesizing, and communicating information
- Demonstrated proficiency staying organized across multiple, diverse job duties
- Demonstrated attention to details
- Demonstrated ability to teach advanced skills of the game
- Experience coaching and/or playing at the collegiate level
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity and proficiency using volleyball-specific technology, including Data Volley, VolleyMetrics, and/or other data analytic programs
- Demonstrated ability to recruit talented domestic and international juniors-level athletes
