Mason School of Business at William & Mary and develops, plans, and executes the School’s marketing, communications, and public relations efforts in alignment with the School’s and the University’s strategic plans and branding initiatives. The goal of these efforts is to enhance the School’s global reputation and stature through leading-edge content, creative direction, media relations, digital marketing, data, and analytics to spark engagement across a wide variety of constituents.The Chief Marketing & Communications Officer leads the multifunctional Marketing & Communications (MarCom) department, supervising a staff of four professionals. This role encompasses core areas of responsibility in marketing and branding, public relations and communications, video production, and web development.Key Responsibilities Include : Provide strategic direction, implementation, and oversight to marketing and communications staff, external consultants, and internal / external partners tasked with implementing marketing programs and elevating the school brand.Define and promote the school’s brand identity, positioning, and messaging.Develop and execute fully integrated marketing and communications strategies.Oversee the development of a Mason School of Business communications strategy and direct the efforts to prioritize organic and earned media channels.Oversee the ongoing maintenance and optimization of Mason’s web presence.Guide technical systems integration for departmental systems supporting marketing and communications efforts.Prepare, administer, and manage the Mason School of Business marketing and media budget.Conditions of Employment Position may require work hours beyond a typical work day or work week to include evenings, nights, and weekends.Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field.Demonstrated ability to create an inclusive work environment as a leader.Significant experience leading an integrated marketing team.Strategic vision and ability to manage a complex production plan.An in-depth understanding of best practices in media content and delivery.Strong project management skills.Experience managing a significant media budget.Effective leadership skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in a related field.Expertise in higher education or corporate public relations.Experience managing vendor and agency relationships.Experience developing integrated marketing strategies across multi-media platforms.Experience implementing digital marketing strategies.Experience in media buying for ad placement.Is the position remote work eligible?
