The Facilities Management Team is an integral element of the Business Services and Organizational Excellence team and serves to create, maintain, and continuously improve the William & Mary physical environment to enable excellence in teaching, research, and public service.
Position Summary
The Facilities Specialist is responsible for training staff on technology and Business Affairs processes. The Specialist engages with key stakeholders to identify needs and deliver maintenance solutions. This role provides critical support for classroom inspections & upgrades, AE studies, VFA campus surveys, and special projects. Additionally, the Facilities Specialist gathers and reports maintenance KPI data to Facilities Management leadership to drive informed decision-making.

Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations and customer groups, including employees with a wide array of occupation and educational backgrounds.
- Ability to deal effectively with university faculty, students, staff, architects, vendors and contractors.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to effectively facilitate and lead meetings and work groups.
- Extensive experience in a dynamic maintenance environment.
- Proficiency with electronic work management software (CMMS) and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
- VAPPA CEFP Certification (Certified Educational Facilities Professional)
- Virginia Trade License (Mechanical, Electrical or Plumbing)
