PCA Personal Care Assistant

Job Overview
My name’s William Mason and I’m currently looking for part-time personal care attendants to help me live independently in my apartment at UGA. I’m a 21-year-old fourth-year student majoring in Political Science, and diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. SMA is a motor neuron disease that inhibits and weakens the muscles over time. I use a power wheelchair to get around, but do need help with every-day tasks. Experience is not mandatory. We will provide training.

I require 24 hour assistance and I am needing people to work any nights, preferably in 10-12 hour shifts but absolutely negotiable based on your schedule. For the night shifts, male students are preferred but not required. I have experience working with anyone.

Responsibilities
- Assist with personal hygiene tasks including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Support with mobility and physical activities during the night, ensuring comfort.
- Help with equipment preparation and operation as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 48 per week
